Tasman Journals is a publisher of academic journals. The Company exists to receive, review and decide on whether to publish or not publish in an on-line format papers submitted by academic authors following a process of third-party review via Manuscript Manager (www.manuscriptmanager.com) or, for shorter articles, by the editorial office, at the Company’s sole discretion. Following a positive decision and payment of the required fee, Tasman Journals will publish the paper in question on-line. Published papers will be open in advance of the publication date to subscribers, and after the publication date, to the general public. All Journals will be in the English language. Tasman Journals is registered in Australia and domiciled in the State of Western Australia. It operates under the law of Western Australia or if applicable of the Commonwealth of Australia. Reference to Tasman Journals in these Terms and Conditions applies also to the journals published under its imprint.
Subscribers and authors including co-authors will be required to divulge personal information deemed by The Company to be the minimum relevant to the publication of papers in an academic journal by way of review editing amendment proof-reading and payment of fees (in the case of authors) or the supply of relevant information to allow communication with subscribers. Members of the public visiting the public pages of the Tasman Journals web site or of the websites of individual Journals will not be required to provide personal information or pay fees. Subscribers and authors including co-authors agree that their information may be stored by Tasman Journals, and Tasman Journals agrees to provide users of all details stored in their name on request. Tasman Journals shall not provide personal information to any third party unless required to do so under the laws of Western Australia or the Commonwealth of Australia.
By submitting their manuscripts, authors are deemed to have declared that the work is original and has not been submitted previously or concurrently to any other journal. They further are deemed to declare that no author has laboured under a conflict of interest and will be required to sign a declaration to that effect. If ethical approval for research work submitted for publication is required under Australian standards (https://www.nhmrc.gov.au/about-us/publications/national-statement-ethical-conduct-human-research), authors agree to provide evidence that such approval has been obtained. The Company for its part will take active steps to detect plagiarism or fraud affecting submitted papers. Papers affected by such processes will not be accepted for publication or removed from the publication record.
Authors agree that the decision on whether or not a manuscript should be accepted for publication is ultimately a matter for Tasman Journals at its sole discretion. Authors also agree that the system of peer review via Manuscript Manager or via the editorial office is sufficient to ensure that a decision made after their application is fair and reasonable and further agree to abide by The Company’s decision.
